Hiking - Le Plateau - Grande boucle - Saint-Michel n° 3

Panoramic view from the Rhône to the Alps on a clear day.

From the car park, walk up past the Town Hall and the church, and take the street that goes under the cemetery. In the hamlet of Le Piaton, just before the cross, take the path up on the right through the meadows. Take Rue des Granges, leave it on your left after the low wall and go down the path between the two farms. About 50m after two stone shelters, continue to the right between the vineyards (an out-and-back trip to the left is possible to enjoy the panoramic view over the Rhône valley and the Alps). Head up on the right along the stream (it may be dry in summer). At the top, cross the stream to your left then continue through the vineyards to go up to the hamlet of Bois Lombard. Above the hamlet, cross the Route des Arts (D90) to your left, then cut across the fields. You will reach the D34 road to Pélussin; follow it for a few metres towards the Pilat massif, then take the path up through the fields. At the top of the path, turn left towards Bois des Gardes. At the top of the woods, turn right at the cross to head back down through the trees, then continue left on Chemin du Treuil. In good weather, enjoy the panoramic view of the Isère and the Alps. At the bottom of Chemin du Treuil, walk up Chemin de Saint-Abdon for 150m and take the path on the right. Go down to the Corna and La Papière ponds, then continue on Chemin de l'Arnaude for 200m towards the village. At the stone shelter, take the path that climbs to the right through the fields. At the top, turn left with your back to the Pilat massif. At the end of the path, turn right for 200m, then take the path on the left just before the cross in the middle of the junction. Go down to the village through the Faverge district.

⚠️ Caution, high-traffic road, be careful.
