Le Brugeron

The Brugeron municipality was created in 1789. It’s located at the border between the Departments of Puy-de-Dôme and Loire. Its center is nestled in the slopes of the Monts du Forez, near the Col du Béal. The municipality covers 2740 hectares, and its 250 residents – the “brugeronnais” – enjoy nature, clean air, trout-filled streams, wildlife, flora, forest walks, and mushroom picking every day. On the Chaumes heights (a wooded area classified as Natura 2000), you’ll find peat bogs, medicinal plants, blueberries, and especially heather, from which the name Brugeron originates. Historically, the inhabitants were primarily loggers and shoemakers in the winter, and farmers in the summer. Today, activities are centered around the town with a plastics factory, numerous artisans, a sawmill, a bakery, a grocery store, a private hotel-restaurant, and the Là O! holiday center. This is an intermunicipal facility with 21 comfortable rooms, suitable for all audiences, featuring meeting rooms and two gîtes, all enjoying access to a pool, hammam, and sauna, and a well-prepared kitchen.
