Hiking - Le roc du Saint Guiral - 2 days
You are in the beech forest, where a few conifers planted by humans blend into the landscape. This land, once harsh, is marked by ruins that bear witness to a difficult past.
The carefully laid stones of the paths connect the neighboring villages. Further on, in these remote hamlets, children play while sheep graze. Life still goes on here, pulsing with the rhythm of the seasons.
The leaves of the trees around us shield the thick green moss covering all these granite boulders from the sun. In the distance, small streams flow gently. Do not make any noise: nature offers you its best…
- Day 1: 17 km from Lac des Pises, St Guiral, Dourbies via GR® 66 (red and white waymarks) and PR (yellow).
- Day 2: 14 km Dourbies via GR® 66 (red and white waymarks) and PR (yellow).
Warning, bivouac is forbidden around Lac des Pises and around St Guiral.
Climbing to the summit of the rock is not recommended for people prone to vertigo and involves many difficult sections.
Before starting a route, check that it is suitable for your activity and your level. Don’t forget that the weather changes quickly in the mountains. Remember to bring sufficient water. Close gates and fences carefully.
Beware of guard dogs at Ressançon around the farm and the meadows: adopt the recommended behavior.
