Hiking - Le rocher du Cher

Granite is ever-present in the landscape: this isn't yet the stark Aubrac, but an Aubrac of meadows, woods, and peaceful hamlets. Here and there, "blocks" and "boulder fields" emerge, silent witnesses to ancient glaciers, or even to legends and beliefs. Here, the Rocher du Cher, a volcanic peak, bears witness to an ancient fortress of the Barony of Peyre.
TO DISCOVER ALONG THE WAY:

  • Le Cher: rock and ruins of one of the castles of the Barony of Peyre

  • Croix à la Narce

  • Sainte-Colombe-de-Peyre: Romanesque church
