Hiking - The Forest Trail - Burdignes No. 2
This trail will lead you through various deciduous and coniferous forests before returning via the Madonna statue and its viewpoint over the village.
From the square (community bread oven and fountain), take the D22 road towards St Sauveur en Rue. At the Croix de Pierre, take the "chemin vieux" (old path) at the gate and continue straight ahead (with a view of the eco-hamlet) to the second gate.
On the Route de la Faye, walk for 50m and take the path on the right that leads to Montpénan. At the hamlet (stone water trough and panoramic view), follow the uphill path to the left, walk along the edge of the woods (with a view of the Déome valley), keeping to the right (please close the gates). Go down the path through the woods to the wide track.
Turn right towards Béchetoile. Carefully cross the road to Saint Sauveur en Rue and continue along the path for 1 km. At the fork, bear right and continue slightly uphill. Join the forest track, turn right, and 50 m further on, climb the path on your right and continue straight ahead until you reach the road to Burdignes. Carefully follow the road uphill for 300 m before turning left towards Les Granges. Go through the hamlet, keeping to the right, and follow the grassy path up to the first fence gate (if livestock are present, do not disturb them; walk around them, avoiding direct contact, keep your dogs on a lead, and close the gates behind you). Continue straight for 100 m (to the marker post) and then turn left
along the embankment to the post, then make a 90° right turn and continue straight towards the second gate. Follow the path back to Burdignes, keeping to the right. There is an option to walk up to the Madonna statue (viewpoint).
⚠️ Warning, busy road, please be careful.
