Hiking - Le suc du Rondet - Marlhes no. 1
A lovely hike through the Sapées woods and to the Maison de l’eau.
A hikers' room is available behind the church: table and water point.
Go straight ahead on rue de l’Aubépine. Continue straight on and climb towards les Granges. At the top of the climb, turn right at the Granges cross; take a moment to admire the view over Marlhes and the surrounding area. Take the first path on your right, which will lead you to the D 501 road (⚠️ Warning: this is a busy road, be careful). Follow it carefully to your left until you reach the sign for the Haute Loire department, then go down the path on your right and back up through the Sapées woods to the forest track.
Turn right at the first junction, then right again at the second junction. The path becomes damp and descends to the Maison de l’eau.
Option to take the Sapée interpretive trail (3 km – 1h30) – Landscape and Heritage information panels.
When you reach the Maison de l’eau, take the small road to the D 10 road and turn right towards Marlhes. Proceed with caution along the D 10, then take the first path on the right in a bend, which will lead you directly to the church square.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety. Therefore, you undertake these hikes at your own risk. Stay on the marked trails to protect fragile ecosystems.
A few recommendations:
Check the weather forecast before you set off
Some routes cross busy roads: Please be careful
Keep dogs on a leash
Do not light fires
Carry out your litter
Enjoy the flowers, but do not pick them.
Tick bites can cause serious illnesses; as a preventative measure: wear clothing that covers your skin, use insect repellent, check your body when you return, remove any ticks with a tick remover without applying any substance to them, and consult a doctor if you notice any redness, flu-like symptoms, or if you are in an at-risk group.
For emergency services, dial 18 or 112.
