Hiking - Le Ternay - Saint-Julien Molin Molette n° 3

Throughout the ages, the 'Le Ternay' river powered numerous grain and oil mills, as well as grinding wheels for sharpening blades, hence the name Molin Molette. There were also lead mines in operation at La Miellerie and Eteize. The second half of the 19th century saw the rise of weaving and natural silk.

Take the D 503 towards Bourg-Argental, then to the left of the cross, take Rue du Mas, then turn right towards La Rivoire and Mainboeuf.

Follow the paved road to Mainboeuf. Take the first path on the left after the hamlet; this path leads to Blanchard.

At Blanchard, take the small paved road to Ecuville. (You can make an out-and-back trip on the path straight ahead that descends to the dam).

Return to St-Julien via the small road on the left.

Note: At Blanchard, a forest track starting in the hamlet leads to the Crêt de Pierre Bertrand, from where you have a beautiful view over the Vivarais and the Alps. The descent is via the same route.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety. Therefore, hikes are undertaken at your own risk. Stay on the waymarked trails to protect fragile areas.
