Hiking - LES BEAUMETTES - GOULT - The secrets of the southern stone
There's so much to see, you won't know where to look first!
"The full architectural diversity of Provence's stone heritage is on display between the villages of Les Beaumettes and Goult. From terraced walls to huts or bories, from boundary walls to old farm buildings, as well as cisterns, rock shelters and other cave dwellings, the variety is vast, allowing you to discover and get a tangible sense of humanity's ancient presence in these places, now sometimes completely reclaimed by Mother Nature". Philippe Gourdin, hiking guide with the Compagnie Horizons Luberon.
- After point 5, there is a steep descent with a section along a ledge (wooden footbridge).
- Before point 6 and after point 12: river crossing! If the stream is swollen after heavy rain, do not hesitate to turn back.
- At points 6 and 12: be careful when crossing the road (D60).
- After point 14: be careful as you emerge near the D900.
- Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest. It is forbidden, regardless of the season!
