Hiking - Les Bruyères du Noyer
Located in the heart of the Perche region, Bretoncelles castle, consisting of a powerful motte flanked by two nested bailey courts, stood at the edge of the Saussay forest, on a ridge overlooking the Corbionne valley.
This hiking circuit allows you to discover:
- the Arrondeau mill, which produced electricity for the village from 1908 to 1934, and is still beautifully flowered.
- Le Noyer, a seigniorial fief, a simple residence of a minor 16th-century country gentleman, distinguished by its tower topped with a conical roof.
- heather grows in abundance on the Noyers hill and in Saussay forest, attracting bees.
- the feudal motte, known as « La Butte du Château », built in the mid-11th century and which lasted until the 15th century.
The site of La Butte du Château is private. It is accessible thanks to the owner's generosity. Please respect the premises.
