Hiking - The Blue Thistles of Deslioures
Although the Deslioures site can be reached by car, this refreshing walk offers a pleasant way to get there.
“Around mid-July, the blue thistles are in full bloom. Discovering this entirely blue site is then a unique spectacle. As you walk along the reserve trail, your gaze changes and focuses on each plant, allowing you to admire its delicate beauty. This species truly deserves its name — the Queen of the Alps!” Marie-Geneviève Nicolas, ranger-guide of the Écrins National Park.
This route leads to the Deslioures Biological Reserve, managed by the National Forestry Office, whose goal is to preserve the blue thistle. The blue thistle is a protected species at both national and European levels, and picking it is strictly prohibited.
