Hiking - Les Cimes - Ampuis No. 2
Head down the road towards Tartaras until you reach Pont de Nave. After the stream, take the dirt path on the right which joins the Côte Ferrée road. Then take the road on the right to the Barbier farm. After the farm, bear right: the path will take you to the shooting range, running alongside the Grand Bois. This is a haunt for wild boars, does, and foxes... wildlife in its natural setting, but only for early risers. You will come back to the paved road: continue straight ahead to the intersection with the RD 45 and the houses of Le Girard. Go straight through the intersection; the path re-enters the woods and leads you to Le Grand Plomb. From this high point of the municipality (altitude 525m), you'll have a commanding view over the Ampuis plateau, the Chonas l'Amballan plateau and, on a clear day, you can admire the Alps!
After 1km, bear right to head back down towards the RD 158. The path on the right will lead you back towards La Madinière. 300 to 400 metres later, the trail enters the woods and joins the RD 45 at Le Vallin. Follow the main road downhill for 1 km to get back to the car park.
⚠️ Warning, this is a busy road, please be careful.
