The Girauds-Faures

Millions of years ago, the Dore and Allier rivers met at the place called “Les Girauds-Faures”. As they retreated, they left a sand dune that was greatly modified over the centuries by the wind. It’s an atypical, unique Natura 2000 site in the Auvergne region and rarely found in Europe, covering an area of 22 hectares.
