Les Hautes-Chaumes du Forez
This gem of the Livradois Forez Regional Park spans over 8,000 hectares of heathland (including blueberry and heather) and peat bogs. Due to its scenic value, biodiversity, uniqueness, and rarity, the Hautes-Chaumes have been designated a Natura 2000 area by the European Union. This designation aims to preserve the site’s environmental qualities while allowing pastoral, forestry, and tourism activities, strictly respecting the environment.
