Hiking - Les lacs du Plateau d’Emparis au départ de Besse
A pleasant route to discover the lakes of the Emparis plateau.
The trail crosses the Emparis plateau, a pastoral area, and reaches the first lake, astonishing, at the edge of a cliff: Lac Lérié. Not far from there, Lac Noir amazes, offering a perfect spot for a picnic with an incredible view of La Meije, Le Râteau, and the Girose glacier…
The tour of the lakes is a great opportunity to take a break and gain some altitude for a day while admiring the exceptional panorama of the Écrins glaciers.
Be careful as Lac Lérié is located at the edge of a cliff.
Camping, fires, and water activities (including swimming) are prohibited on the Emparis plateau. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Overnight bivouac between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. remains allowed.
