Hiking - LES TAILLADES - Colline de Pied Caud

A family-friendly walk between forest and garrigue, at the foot of the Petit Luberon.

“I often walk on Pied Caud with my family or my dog. Firstly, because the walk starts from Les Taillades, a village nestled at the foot of the Luberon massif that combines Provençal charm, a history carved in stone, and an exceptional quality of life. Then, as I walk along the hillsides above, between the abundant garrigue and pine forest, I revel in the many precious scents. Higher up on the track, I enjoy the splendid view over the wild, rugged Petit Luberon and the fertile Durance Valley. Finally, on the way back, I stroll along the irrigation canal before going to see the Saint-Pierre mill and its large water wheel… A haven of peace, perfect for a rejuvenating walk!”. Hélène Martin, Deputy Director at the Destination Luberon Tourist Office.

  • CAUTION: GRAZING AREA on the Pied Caud hill and the foothills of the massif, from mid-April to the end of June. During this period, it is best not to bring your dog; if you do, you must KEEP IT ON A LEASH! If livestock guardian dogs approach you, do not pet or threaten them. Stop, then wait patiently for them to finish their "inspection" before calmly continuing on your way, giving the flock as wide a berth as possible. For your information, please review the best practices for encountering livestock guardian dogs.

  • FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is forbidden year-round! And in the summer, before setting out, check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
