Hiking - The Orchards - Maclas No. 1
A loop on small roads and wide, drivable tracks through orchards (apples, pears, peaches), which is especially beautiful when the fruit trees are in bloom.
After the hamlet of Le Buisson, there is a panoramic view over the village of Maclas and the Rhône Valley. On a clear day, there are beautiful views of the Alps.
Start from the public square, cross the village via the 'ruettes' (narrow streets) to the church, then take the D503, followed by the road to Félines, as far as the sports complex.
When you reach the Madonna statue, follow the path on the left to the first junction and take the uphill path on the right. Then cross the CD19 and continue straight on. Carefully cross the D503, head towards the factories and turn right, continuing to Le Camier.
Carefully cross the Maclas - Véranne road and continue to the left.
Go up to Le Buisson. Turn right, cross the hamlet of Le Buisson and follow the wide path along the hillside. Before Couroule, do not cross the stream. Turn right and go downhill. Just before reaching the road, take the path immediately on your right, then turn left when you get to the small road to carefully cross the D19 (Maclas - Pélussin).
Go down to Sallecroix, cross the hamlet, and cross the Maclas – Bessey road. When you reach the Bessey – Lupé road, follow it to the right as far as the Lupé cemetery. At the cemetery, take a dirt path on the right to La Poulalière, then continue to the last houses of the village of Lupé (you will arrive opposite a calvary).
Follow the D503 for 300m towards Maclas (watch out for traffic), take a path on the left and follow it for 100m, then turn right to reach Paraveyre and then Maclas, your starting point.
