Hiking - The Viaducts

Discover the impressive Cévennes railway network, between tunnels and giant viaducts.

Along the route, directional posts guide you. The names of places and/or directions to follow are indicated in bold italic and in quotes in the description below:

From "ALZON", follow the direction of "VIERGE D’ALZON" via "Sous la Vierge". From there, a round trip is possible up to the Vierge. Continue on "Rocamousse" then "Passerelle de la Vis" and "Les Lauriers". Then head toward "Valcroze" via "Chemin de Gleize". At "Valcroze", return to "ALZON" via "Pont de Saurel".

Bring a flashlight for the first tunnel. Adjust your equipment to the day’s weather conditions. Be sure to carry enough water, good shoes, and a hat. Close fences and gates securely if you encounter any along the route.
