Hiking - MAUBEC - OPPÈDE-LE-VIEUX - Along the Cross-Country Paths
Timeless charm and echoes of the past, in perfect harmony...
"This walk is, figuratively speaking, a true path less travelled! The proposed route differs from what you might expect for discovering the medieval jewel of Oppède-le-Vieux. But the experience of setting out on foot from Maubec, a serene hilltop village, guarantees a peaceful and authentic discovery. Strolling through the cobbled alleyways, past fortresses, historic monuments, and the brilliant green of the rugged slopes on the north-facing side of the Petit Luberon, punctuated by unforgettable panoramas, is to enrich oneself with the soul of Provence...". Léa Moreira De Sousa, Communications Manager at OTI Destination Luberon.
- After point 2: watch your ankles, as several sections of the trail are covered with stones, roots, and small ruts.
- Before point 4: be careful when emerging onto the road at the entrance to Oppède-le-Vieux (D178).
- After point 5: caution, the descent is on a rocky path and a narrow cobbled street.
- Along the way, please respect the residents' peace and quiet.
- FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest; it is forbidden in all seasons! And in the summer, before setting out on a walk, I check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
