Hiking - MOUSTIERS-SAINTE-MARIE - Montdenier Summit

A beautiful hike offering superb viewpoints of the surrounding peaks. The sections approaching Montdenier through the forest are magnificent.

From the 1750m summit of Montdenier, you'll discover the Valensole plateau and the mountains of Provence (Montagne de Lure, Luberon (Petit and Grand), and in the distance, on a clear day, Sainte-Victoire). Opposite, towards Digne, the silhouettes of the first foothills of the Alps emerge.

It is preferable to do this hike in the morning if you want to benefit from some shade. Bring hiking poles if you have them. During periods of high heat, plan for 4L of water per person, not forgetting sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Possible variation: Starting from the Col de Saint Jurs avoids the long forest track.
