Hiking - NANS-LES-PINS - From the Huveaune to Mantelette
A family walk crossing alleyways, forest paths, or tracks bordered by olive groves, to reach the banks of the Huveaune.
Starting from the village, walk part of the Chemin des Roys, an ancient pilgrimage route that connects Nans-les-Pins to Sainte-Baume. Then listen carefully and let yourself be guided by the sound of the Huveaune, a remarkable coastal river that has shaped the economic development of the region. Finally, wind your way between forest and olive groves, amidst white rockrose and holm oaks, perhaps accompanied by the song of kinglets and jays.
This hike includes a ford which can be tricky in case of heavy rains. Be cautious and adapt your hike to the prevailing terrain conditions. In summer, the area is highly susceptible to wildfire risk. As a result, access is restricted from June 21st to September 20th. Check the access conditions for the forest areas, which are updated daily on the Var prefecture's website.
