Trailence

Hiking - POURCIEUX - The old marble quarries

A loop trail that winds between vineyards and forest at the foot of the Baou, a mix of culture and nature, ideal for a family walk.

"I enjoy hiking below the Baou (the local name for Mont Aurélien); the area feels fresh and tranquil. I appreciate the start of this hike in the village, with its washhouses, monuments, and shops, offering a peaceful transition into nature. The marble blocks remind me of the people who used to work here, and this village nestled in the vineyards is well worth the detour." Alexandre Caramello, mountain guide, Rando Garrigue.

In summer, the area is at high risk of fire. As a result, access is regulated from 21 June to 20 September. Check the access conditions for the forest areas, which are updated daily on the Var prefecture's website.
