Hiking - POURRIÈRES - Sentier de l'Aubanède
At the foot of Mont Aurélien, take the smugglers' path to the ruins of the Château de Roquefeuille!
This trail takes you between forest and garrigue to the ruins of the old medieval Roquefeuille castle, passing through the Vallon de l’Aubanède and by the foot of Mont Aurélien. From the smugglers' path, there is a magnificent view over the Arc valley and the imposing Sainte-Victoire mountain, extended to the west by the Barre du Cengle. An exceptional natural setting between the Sainte-Baume and the Pays d'Aix region, not to be missed.
Quite a steep and scree-covered descent on the return path, near the castle ruins.Access to the banks of the Canal de Provence is prohibited.
In summer, the area is at high risk of fire. For this reason, access is regulated from June 21 to September 20. Check the access conditions for the forest areas, which are updated daily on the Var prefecture's website.
