Hiking - PUGET-SUR-DURANCE - Foothills and Biodiversity Along the Way
A rewarding nature walk between the Luberon and the Durance...
"A most pleasant walk, alternating between cool, shady, small valleys with dense vegetation, and more open areas where you can admire the meanders of the Durance river to the south, then to the north, the Petit Luberon stretching lazily into the azure sky where a cloud sometimes comes to rest. I love walking in the gentle spring air, which releases the first scents, when the rocks are covered in a thousand flowers and the insects, finally warmed up, get drunk on nectar." Tony Guarente, mountain leader, Cèdres company.
- Narrow passages and stony ground to be avoided in case of heavy rain.
- Between points 3 and 5: watch your ankles on the rocky sections.
- WARNING: PASTORAL ZONE on the plateaus and hills of the massif's foothills from mid-April to mid-June. In the presence of livestock guardian dogs that come towards me, I do not pet or threaten them. I stop, then patiently wait for them to finish their "check" before calmly resuming my way, going around the flock as widely as possible. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a tight leash. As a reminder, review the correct way to behave around livestock guardian dogs.
- FIRE RISK. Fire is the enemy of the forest... and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest; it is forbidden in all seasons! And in summer, before setting out, check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
