Hiking - SAINT-SAUVEUR-GOUVERNET - Tour of the Ennuyé Valley (2 days)
Between perched villages and local agriculture, discover the Ennuyé Valley, with its surprising viewpoints and hidden treasures!
"Located between the Buis-les-Baronnies and Eygues valleys, this trek is a total immersion into Provençal culture. Wandering through the cobbled streets of small perched villages and enjoying the cool shade of the fruit trees are convivial moments to share. The many viewpoints over the local biodiversity are like moments suspended in time!" Hugo COLIN, intern at the Baronnies Provençales Regional Natural Park
The first stage, from Col de Peyruergue to Sainte-Jalle, begins with a gentle climb up to Col de Bodon. After a descent towards Col d'Ey, the route climbs back up along the Fournache. This first day ends with a slope down to Sainte-Jalle, passing through Rochebrune.
The second stage continues on the other side of the valley. With a series of passes and perched villages, the elevation gain is much more significant on this second part. Passing through Bellecombe-Tarendol and Saint-Sauveur-Gouvernet, a final climb brings you back to Col de Peyruergue.
Avoid picking wild plants: some of them are protected.
The path passes near cultivated areas which are private property; please do not pick anything from the fields (lavender, fruit, etc...).
A section of the route is highly exposed to the sun; bring the necessary gear (water, hat, sunscreen, etc.) for hot summer days. Set off early in the morning to avoid the hottest hours of the day.
FIRE RISK. Fire is the enemy of the forest... and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is forbidden at all times of the year! And in summer, before you set out, check the access conditions and regulations for forested areas.
CAUTION: GRAZING AREA AHEAD: If livestock guardian dogs approach you, stop. Do not pet or threaten them. Wait patiently while they check you out, then calmly resume your path, giving the flock a wide berth. It's best not to bring your own dog; if you do, it must be kept on a leash. Remember to close all gates behind you.
