Hiking - SAULT - Around Durefort Tower

A loop that reflects the region's landscape: oak forests, lavender fields on a high plateau, and Mont Ventoux.

“It’s a relaxing walk that I love to do in both summer and autumn for its colours, its timeless feel, and the unobstructed views it offers of Mont Ventoux, the Albion plateau, and the Southern Alps.” Elsa Aptel, Sault Inter-municipal Tourist Office

  • At point 1, walk along the D943 road for 300 metres.

  • At points 7 and 8: you will cross main roads twice.

  • HUNTING: During hunting season, wear brightly coloured clothing, make your presence clearly known, and respect any signs put in place by hunters.

  • PASTORAL AREA: If livestock guardian dogs approach you, do not pet or threaten them. Stop, wait patiently for them to finish their "check" before calmly continuing on your way, giving the flock as wide a berth as possible. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a tight leash. As a reminder, review the correct behaviour to adopt when encountering livestock guardian dogs.

  • FIRE RISK: Fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as this is forbidden in all seasons! During the summer, before setting out on your walk, please check the access conditions and regulations for forest areas.
