Hiking - ST-TRINIT – The centuries-old oaks of the Caviote woods
All the landscape diversity of this upland area is laid out before your eyes: meadows, oak forests, rural farms and dry-stone structures.
"I'm lucky enough to hike this loop in all seasons, and it delights me every time! I love its brightness, especially around the 'Les Douces' farm, as well as its shaded paths through the Caviote woods. And I'm always in awe of the imposing, centuries-old oaks, which are truly inspiring." Elsa Aptel, Sault Inter-municipal Tourist Office
- Waypoints 2, 3 and 7: dangerous crossings of the D950
- Waypoints 1 and 4: crossing of the D157
- HUNTING: during hunting season, I wear brightly coloured clothing, make my presence known, and respect any signs put up by hunters.
- PASTORAL AREA: if livestock guardian dogs approach me, I do not pet or threaten them. I stop, wait patiently for them to 'check me out', then calmly resume my path, giving the flock as wide a berth as possible. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a tight lead. As a reminder, review the best practices for encountering livestock guardian dogs.
- FIRE RISK: fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! I do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is forbidden in any season! And during the summer, before setting out, I check the access conditions and regulations for forested areas.
- Respect the private property along the route.
