Hiking - VENASQUE - The Hermitage of Saint-Gens

A remarkable trail that takes you on a hike through history, geology, and the stunning surrounding landscapes.

"I love doing this hike in all four seasons; each one brings its own light and colours. Many places make you wonder about the history of the villages and rural life. Along the way, I discover limestone slabs, fairy chimneys, jas, the Hermitage of St-Gens, and magnificent views over the Vaucluse massifs. At the finish, you're tired but happy to have discovered one of the most beautiful hikes in the Ventoux Park." Daniel VILLANOVA, Mountain Guide at Passion Nature

  • HUNTING: during hunting season, wear brightly coloured clothing, make your presence clearly known, and respect any signs put up by hunters.

  • PASTORAL AREA: in the presence of livestock guardian dogs that come to meet you, do not pet or threaten them. Stop, then wait patiently for them to finish their "inspection" before calmly continuing on your way, bypassing the flock as widely as possible. It is best not to bring your dog; if you do, keep it on a leash. As a reminder, please review the correct way to behave around livestock guardian dogs.

  • FIRE RISK: fire is the enemy of the forest… and the hiker! Do not smoke or light fires in the forest, as it is forbidden in all seasons! And during the summer, before setting out, check the access conditions and regulations for forested areas.
