Hiking - Greenway – Florac to Saint-Julien d'Arpaon
A family-friendly walk or bike ride on a wide, even path, passing through the varied landscapes of the Mimente valley between Florac and Saint-Julien d’Arpaon.
This route follows the historic track of the former departmental railway (CFD) that connected Florac to Sainte-Cécile d’Andorge. It is dotted with informational panels that allow users to better discover the natural, cultural, and historical treasures along the route. It is a tribute to all those who built it.
The Florac – La Salle Prunet section has a surface suitable for accompanied persons with reduced mobility, as well as for strollers and scooters.
Well suited for cycling or mountain biking, although the path is stony in some places.
Along the route, directional posts guide you and indicate the remaining kilometers to reach Saint-Julien d’Arpaon. The itinerary starts in Florac and reaches Saint-Julien d’Arpaon via La Salle Prunet (round trip).
Attention: road crossing at the exit of Florac!
Attention, this section of the greenway is prohibited to equines because a footbridge crosses the Mimente at the “Pont Manqué”.
Adapt your equipment to the day’s weather conditions. Remember that weather changes quickly in the mountains. Bring enough water, good shoes, and a hat.
